Thanks to the folks over at The Oregonian for their insightful piece in today’s paper about Pop-Portland, featuring The Fiesta Lounge. The temporary, multi-use store opens today in the old Music Millennium to help launch the all-new Ford Fiesta. Business reporter Elliot Njus tracked down Lynn Kahle, a marketing professor at the University of Oregon. Kahle said the “cultural hub” idea is a new one that he thinks has a good chance of working. ”They’re thinking in terms of lifestyle marketing,” he said. “If you can reach people in places associated with their lifestyle and associate your product with the lifestyle, you’re more likely to establish a connection.”
